Marketplace Roundup: HSV Hamburg Extends Partnership With Lotto Hamburg

Handball Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg has extended its partnership with Lotto Hamburg for another three years (HSV Hamburg). ... The Scandinavian division of Japanese tire company Yokohama "signed a deal to sponsor Swedish club Hammarby." The company signed an initial one-year deal that covers the '16 Swedish football season, "although the agreement also includes an option to extend for a further year." Yokohama branding will be "displayed on the Stockholm-based club's playing shirts." The financial terms "have not been released" (SOCCEREX, 10/13). ... Sri Lanka healthcare service provider Nawaloka Hospitals PLC announced its partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket as its official healthcare partner. Nawaloka will be extending medical services to all local and int'l teams when they play in Sri Lanka, for a period of three years (Sri Lanka Cricket). ... National Rugby League side Newcastle Knights unveiled Huntlee as a new sponsor for the next three seasons. The multi-year deal will see the Huntlee logo in the sternum position of the Newcastle Knights jersey (Newcastle Knights).

JUST ONE PROBLEM: Adidas may hold the "most lucrative sponsorship deal in world football" but that does not "make them immune to internet cock-ups." The sportswear company advertised a retro ManU jacket on its website but "there was just one problem -- the model wearing it was also sporting a pair of Chelsea trousers." Adidas has "since removed the page" from its website (London DAILY MIRROR 10/13).
