Bundesliga Side Hamburg SV Renews Shirt Sponsorship Deal With Emirates Through '19

Bundesliga side Hamburg SV "has renewed its shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates until '19," according to the DPA. The Dubai-based airline "extended its contract, which was set to expire at the end of the season, for another three years until June '19." Emirates has been the club's shirt sponsor since '06. The airline also has partnerships with Real Madrid, Paris St. Germain, AC Milan, Arsenal, Benfica and Olympiacos (DPA, 10/7). SPONSORs' Nils Lehnebach reported Emirates most recently paid €7.5M ($8.4M) annually for the shirt sponsorship. The extension "comes after Hamburg renewed its kit deal with adidas through '23-24." It also "signed a long-term deal with beer partner König Pilsener." The deal "is set to expire at the end of the '22-23 season." The stadium naming rights "have been sold to businessman Klaus-Michael Kühne" through '19 (SPONSORs, 10/7).
