Sources: NYC FC President Tom Glick Will Not Leave MLS Franchise To Re-Join Man City

Major League Soccer side NYC FC President Tom Glick "will not leave the club" as reported, sources familiar with the matter told SBD Global. Metro.us on Monday reported that Glick will leave the expansion team to re-join English Premier League club Man City. Sources confirmed the franchise "engaged" a headhunting firm, reported to be L.A.-based Korn Ferry. However, the sources said this is simply to "further augment the leadership team" of a growing business. One source said, "[It] does not in any way, shape, or form mean that somebody like Tom or somebody like (NYC FC Managing Dir) Ferran (Soriano) would be on their way out." Glick took over as NYC FC president on Feb. 1 after his predecessor, Tim Pernetti, left the club to join WME-IMG as President of Multimedia, IMG College.

Prior to joining the MLS franchise, Glick worked as chief commercial & marketing officer for Man City and managing director of City Football Marketing. City Football Group, the owner NYC FC, also owns Man City along with teams is Australia (Melbourne City FC) and Japan (Yokohama F. Marinos).
