Event Notes: Six Top Cycling Events Form World Association Of Cycling Events

Six of the world's top mass participation cycling events have come together to form the World Association of Cycling Events. The constitution of the new association was announced in Rome on Wednesday. The WACE will be comprised of: Cape Town Cycle Tour (South Africa), TD Five Boro Bike Tour (U.S.A.), Vatternrundan (Sweden), L'Etat du Tour (France), RideLondon (U.K.) and Grandfondo Campagnolo Roma (Italy) (WACE). ... FIFA has postponed next week's 2018 World Cup qualifier between the Palestinians and Saudi Arabia "until a decision is made on where the match between the two nations should be played." A meeting was held "at FIFA headquarters in Zurich on Tuesday between Palestinian Football Federation President Jibril Rajoub and his Saudi counterpart Ahmed Eid Al Harbi." A FIFA spokesperson said, "It was decided to postpone the match until the ongoing process has been concluded" (AFP, 10/7).
