VfL Wolfsburg, Kit Supplier Kappa Part Ways At The End Of Season; Nike Top Candidate

Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg and kit supplier Kappa "will end their partnership at the end of the '15-16 season," according to Holger Rehm of SPONSORs. The contract between the club and the Italian company "was set to expire at the end of the '18-19 season." VfL Sports Dir Klaus Allofs "confimred the decision at the press conference on Friday." He "did not comment on ongoing negotiation with other suppliers only saying that the club is talking to various companies." German football magazine Kicker reported that Nike is the top candidate to replace Kappa from '16-17. Negotiations between the two parties are reportedly close to being finalized. Nike is reportedly close to signing a 10-year deal with the club. The annual value is expected to be in the mid-seven figures (SPONSORs, 10/2).
