Spanish Government Awards Real Madrid One Of Three New HD TV Channels

The Spanish government will reportedly award Atresmedia, Mediaset and Real Madrid TV the three new HD terrestrial digital TV channels which were put out to tender, according to MARCA. Meanwhile, one of the new standard-definition channels will go to Grupo Secuoya and another will go to 13TV. The "final one may go to Grupo Vocento." According to a report by El Mundo, the recipients "have already received official notification from the government, and the cabinet will approve the measure shortly" (MARCA, 9/30).
