Spanish Football League Announces Plan For Association Of Women's Clubs

Spanish Football League (LFP) President Javier Tebas said at the league's "Present and Future of Women's Spanish Football" day that La Liga "has decided to take a step forward in women's football," according to Isabel Roldán of AS. Tebas: "We are going to push women's football globally." He assured that the league has a clear strategy to follow, a process "that should be led" by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the clubs. Tebas also announced that on Oct. 31, an association of women's clubs will be created that will be organized and financed by the LFP. Tebas: "This association of clubs, to which we are going to allocate an economic sum with the goal that the clubs do not have to provide money, should be the intermediary between this body and the RFEF" (AS, 9/30).
