Tottenham Could Groundshare With MK Dons After Positive Talks

The destination for EPL side Tottenham's home in '17-18 "could yet be Milton Keynes," according to Jack Gaughan of the London DAILY MAIL. MK Dons "remain in the hunt" to house the Spurs for one season while the club redevelops White Hart Lane into a 61,000-seat stadium fit to match its "lofty ambitions." Discussions between the two clubs progressed well, with Tottenham Chair Daniel Levy knowing a deal can be "easily thrashed out." The two parties are "relaxed about a potential agreement" and could comfortably finalized plans. Tottenham has "always been keen to stay in London" during its year away from home and is hopeful that it can utilize Wembley. However, the logistics have "become muddied" with Chelsea's desire for a three-year tenancy -- despite FA CEO Martin Glenn's claiming earlier this month that "there would be no problem with the pair sharing Wembley." Spurs know a switch to MK Dons represents a "cheaper alternative than Wembley and ultimately would not have a crippling effect on attendances." Stadium:mk has a capacity of almost 31,000, "just under that of White Hart Lane." Train journeys for supporters out of the capital to Milton Keynes "last around half an hour." MK Dons is thought to be "enthusiastic about the proposed move" and has an opportunity in the coming weeks to showcase hosting big events during the Rugby World Cup (DAILY MAIL, 9/29).
