Bundesliga Side Darmstadt Reports Small Profit Of $5,000 For '14-15 Season

Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt "recorded a slight profit during the '14-15 fiscal year," according to DIE WELT. The club generated revenue of €13.48M ($15.17M) during its last season in the 2nd Bundesliga. Darmstadt also announced a profit of €4,600 ($5,176) for the previous season at its member meetion on Monday. Darmstadt President Rüdiger Fritsch: "We are economically healthy." However, he also warned that "Darmstadt's structure is despite, or because, the on-field success is still very wobbly." Therefore it is necessary to modernize the club's structures. The main project is the renovation of its stadium and the legal restructuring of the professional football department. The management is working on a separation of the "risky professional sector" from the rest of the club (DIE WELT, 9/28).
