Spanish Football League Clubs Vote To Implement Centralized Sale Of TV Rights

Spanish Football League (LFP) clubs on Thursday approved the incorporation of the centralized sale of TV rights established by the new Real Decreto, according to MARCA. LFP President Javier Tebas announced that the statutes were approved, with just one team voting against it. He "did not reveal which club because voting is secret." Tebas: "All the votes of the day have had significant majorities, but they are secret because each club really expresses its will." He added, "If someone believes that this infringes on their rights they should resort to the courts" (MARCA, 9/24). The EFE reported the only vote in opposition was from Real Madrid. Tebas assured that he does not consider the passing of the Real Decreto a "personal victory." Tebas: "It was the desire of the vast majority of the clubs that the statutes be reflected" (EFE, 9/24).
