Hamburg SV Says Renewal Talks With Shirt Sponsor Emirates 'Very Promising'

Bundesliga side Hamburg SV "is reportedly close signing a contract extension with shirt sponsor Emirates," according to Nils Lehnebach of SPONSORs. Hamburg SV Marketing Dir Joachim Hilke described the talks with the Dubai-based airline as "very promising." He added that "nothing has been signed yet, but it looks good." Emirates has been the club's shirt sponsor since '06-07. The two sides renewed their contract, which was set to expire in '12, for a further three years until the end of the '14-15 season. The contract reportedly "included an option for an additional year which the club took." The current negotiations are reportedly regarding a new three-year deal (SPONSORs, 9/18).
