NFL Signs Broadcast Rights Deal with TVNZ for New Zealand, Flow In Caribbean

TVNZ secured broadcast rights to the NFL this season allowing Kiwi fans to watch games and former National Rugby League star and current 49ers RB Jarryd Hayne, according to Steve Kilgallon of Stuff.co.nz. Jeff Latch TVNZ Dir Content says "more deals are to come," after completing the deal for the rights to the NFL. The NFL rights is the most recent deal following TVNZ signing deals for Wimbledon tennis, Australian football, some LPGA and PGA professional golf events and limited rights package for English Premier League football. Latch hinted TVNZ would now "seek rights for more coveted sporting events," saying they were "interested in engaging" more with Sky TV to claim "free-to-air rights for major sports and see if they could deliver combined free-to-air/pay TV deals for major rights" (STUFF, 09/16).

FLOW TO CARIBBEAN: Caribbean operator Flow, formerly Lime, has "signed a five-year rights deal with the NFL to offer various American football packages including NFL Sunday Ticket, NFL Network and NFL RedZone for its cable TV line-up across the region." As part of the deal, "customers will also be able to watch live regular season NFL games on Flow TV" (Flow).
