Brisbane Bullets Return To National Basketball League After Seven Years In '16

Brisbane "will bounce back to life in the National Basketball League in '16-17 with an old name, familiar venue and new colours," according to Greg Davis of the COURIER-MAIL. NBL powerbrokers "will be in Brisbane on Friday to address the corporate and basketball communities about the return of the team"-- to again be known as the Bullets -- after seven years in the wilderness. Brisbane "will also adopt the traditional Queensland sporting colours of maroon and gold instead of the blue and gold once worn by the three-time NBL champion club." NBL bosses "will hold a forum with basketball identities, potential sponsors and future ownership partners at the Brisbane Convention Centre." They will then "unveil the team’s new logo and their first fulltime employee, which is believed to be assistant coach CJ Bruton." The NBL "has been swamped with applications for the Bullets’ general manager role which was advertised last week" (COURIER-MAIL, 9/17).
