After CONMEBOL President Juan Ángel Napout's Friday announcement that next year's Copa América Centenario will remain in the U.S., CONCACAF said in a statement on Saturday, "We are continuing to work with CONMEBOL, the US Soccer Federation and all other stakeholders on hosting the Copa America Centenario tournament in the United States. CONCACAF is committed to continue working with all parties to address the operational, format and financial issues relating to the tournament in order to ensure greater transparency to this event. We are hopeful that the meeting on Thursday in Mexico City will lead to progress on these issues" (Major League Soccer). ... Wiliams Advanced Engineering, the sole supplier of batteries for the FIA Formula E Championship, confirmed that the maximum power output of the batteries will increase to 1,700kW during each race in season two of Formula E. The batteries were initially designed to meet season one technical specifications from the FIA and operated during a race at a maximum power of 133kW. Following successful preseason testing this was increased to 150kW for the start of season one to increase the performance of the cars (Williams). ... Officials at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Friday the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix will not be held at the track next year. MotoGP has been held at the track for the past eight years. Officials said that it was a mutual decision, citing scheduling changes with MotoGP and geographic challenges (FOX, 9/11).
