A-League Side Newcastle Jets Name Inspirations Paint New Major Sponsor

A-League side Newcastle Jets named Inspirations Paint its new major sponsor. Inspirations Paint branding will be featured on the front of Newcastle's BLK away kit, and on the back of the club's BLK home jerseys. The support from the paint brand extends to the club's Westfield W-League side. Jets Women will wear BLK kits featuring Inspirations Paint branding in each of their matches. The partnership was launched on Thursday at Honeysuckle in Newcastle, where artist Mitch Revs painted four caricatures of Newcastle Jets players on canvasses (A-League). In Newcastle, Robert Dillon reported Newcastle's main home strip will be "predominantly blue with red-and-gold trim, but there will also be a nostalgic gold version to be worn in three games selected by the club's members." Jets CEO David Eland said the decision to abandon the blue-and-red stripes that were introduced by former Owner Nathan Tinkler had been based on "overwhelming feedback from the club's fans, who felt the home kit of the past four seasons too closely resembled that worn by the Knights." Eland: "They're gone. We've really listened to the members ... we want our own identity, absolutely" (NEWCASTLE HERALD, 9/10).
