Bayern Munich CEO KARL-HEINZ RUMMENIGGE and Juventus President ANDREA AGNELLI "are set to join" UEFA's exec committee. Rummenigge "was also re-elected for another two-year term" as European Club Association president (REUTERS, 9/8). ... Scottish Premiership side Celtic CEO PETER LAWWELL "has been re-elected" to the exec board of the ECA (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 9/8). ... JEROME JAYARATNE "will be Sri Lanka's interim coach for the home series against West Indies beginning next month." Sri Lanka was without a head coach after MARVAN ATAPATTU "resigned earlier this month following the team's back-to-back home test series defeat by Pakistan and India." Sri Lanka Cricket "is likely to appoint a full-time coach before the team leaves for their New Zealand tour in December" (REUTERS, 9/8). ... A-League side Adelaide United Founding CEO MICHAEL PETRILLO "has decided to walk away from the club." He told fans it is "the right time" to hand over the club reins. His decision has "shocked" Dir BRUNO MARVEGGIO, who said it had "taken the club by surprise." Petrillo said that his decision to leave "had not been easy, but the timing was right." Petrillo will continue in his role until the end of this month and will help to find his replacement (THE ADVERTISER, 9/8). ... YANNICK FERRERA has been named as the new coach of Belgian club Standard Liege, signing a two-year contract on Monday. Ferrera, who debuts with his new club against Lokeren on Sunday, replaces 62-year-old Serbian SLAVOLJUB MUSLIN, dismissed after a "poor start to the season that included defeat by Norway's Molde in the Europa League" (REUTERS, 9/8). ... League One side Doncaster Rovers sacked Manager PAUL DICKOV. The club said in a statement, "From today ROB JONES will take charge of first-team affairs on a temporary basis and the club has full confidence in Rob as we look forward to a tough game against Walsall this weekend" (BBC, 9/8).
