Football Notes: Ghanaian FA Boss Hoping Attractive Women Will Boost Attendance

Ghanaian FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed plans to "help boost dwindling attendance figures for the country's domestic football league, by luring men to stadiums with the presence of attractive women." He believes that if he can fill venues with "beautiful girls," the men will follow. Nyantakyi said, "Me I have said this thing over and over again ... we must let sexy ladies enter our stadia and the men will readily follow them into the stadium to watch games" (London TELEGRAPH, 9/8). ... The Scottish FA has apologized for "blocking the view of disabled supporters with advertising boards during Scotland's 2-3 loss to Germany at Hampden Park on Monday evening." Fans sitting in the South Stand's accessible area were "left unable to see any of the action on the pitch due to several very large corporate sponsor advertisements obstructing the view" (TELEGRAPH, 9/8).
