Austrian skier ANNA FENNINGER "has parted ways with German consultency group Vitesse," which is owned by KLAUS KÄRCHER. At the same time, the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) announced sports journalist URSULA HOFFMANN "will support Fenninger" (SID, 9/7). ... Former La Liga side Rayo Vallecano President JOSÉ MARÍA RUIZ-MATEOS died on Monday at the age of 84. He "had been hospitalized since August due to health problems" (EFE, 9/7). ... Spain's Administrative Court for Sport (TAD) resolved its investigation into former Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) President JOSÉ LUIS ESCAÑUELA, sanctioning him with a two-year ban. He had previously been banned indefinitely in June (AS, 9/6). ... Police in Bangladesh are looking for cricketer SHAHADAT HOSSAIN and his wife in relation to the "alleged abuse of their 11-year-old domestic help." The girl is "now in hospital after she was found in the streets, while the police have registered a case against the 29-year-old fast bowler" (BBC, 9/7). ....  Former Scottish Premiership side Dundee United and ManU winger RALPH MILNE died at the age of 54. He had been receiving treatment in hospital for liver problems (BBC, 9/7). ... Former England int'l VIKRAM SOLANKI decided to retire. The 39-year-old played in 51 one-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals for England between '00 and '07 (PA, 9/7). ... The blazer worn by former Australian cricketer DONALD BRADMAN during his first series as test captain sold for A$132,000 ($91,410) on Monday. The green jacket with gold piping and the Australia crest on the breast pocket was worn by the batsman when he led the Australians against the English tourists in the '36-37 Ashes series, which the home side won 3-2. It had been expected to sell for A$70,000-A$90,000 ($48,500-$62,300) but bids had reached the A$100,000 ($69,250) mark "when the hammer went down at the auction house in Melbourne" (REUTERS, 9/7). ... A British crew member of a yacht taking part in the Clipper Round the World race died "after an accident off the coast of Portugal," his team said on Saturday. Paramedic ANDREW ASHMAN, 49, was reefing a sail on the IchorCoal entry around midnight on Friday during the first leg from London to Brazil when he was "knocked unconscious" (REUTERS, 9/5).
