IOC President Thomas Bach To Meet PyeongChang 2018 Games Organizers

The PyeongChang 2018 organizing committee said that IOC President Thomas Bach will meet organizers and key sponsors of the 2018 Winter Games on Wednesday "and pay a visit to South Korea President Park Geun-hye to discuss government support for the Games," according to Peter Rutherford of REUTERS. Bach, who will travel to Beijing on Thursday for the world athletics championships, "will be accompanied by Gunilla Lindberg, the head of the IOC's Coordination Committee for the Pyeongchang Games." He will meet with PyeongChang Organizing Committee President Cho Yang-ho "and participate in a welcome luncheon." The organizing committee said that Tier-1 sponsors of the Games "would also be at the luncheon" (REUTERS, 8/18).
