Raipur, India To Host Men's Field Hockey World League Final In November

The int'l field hockey federation (FIH) said that Chhattisgarh, India will host the men’s Hockey World League Final from Nov. 27-Dec. 6 in its capital city of Raipur, according to the PTI. The event "will be held in the Raipur International Hockey Stadium, which was opened as a dedicated hockey facility in August last year." The event "will feature" eight national field hockey teams. They include Australia, ranked No. 1 in the FIH World Rankings, Netherlands (2), Germany (3), Belgium (4), Great Britain (5), Argentina (6), hosts India (8) and Canada (13). This will be the first int'l hockey event "to be staged not only in the newly-built Raipur International Hockey Stadium, but also in the city" (PTI, 8/18).
