More Than 500,000 Viewers Tune In To Watch DFB-Pokal Games On Sky

German pay-TV channel Sky recorded more than half a million viewers to its broadcast of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) games on Saturday, according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The games attracted an average of 530,000 viewers starting at 3:30pm. The coverage obtained a market share of 7.1% in the target demographic 14-49. On Sunday, Sky's broadcasts drew a 6.8% share in the target demo as 510,000 viewers tuned in starting at 2:30pm. The market share grew to 7.7% starting at 4pm while 610,000 viewers tuned in. The games on Saturday evening received distinctively lower ratings. Sky drew only 120,000 viewers and a 0.8% share starting at 8:30pm. German public broadcaster ARD recorded almost 3.5 million viewers for its DFB-Pokal highlights show. The program, which started at 6pm on Saturday, drew an average audience of 3.47 million viewers and had a market share of 22.5%. On Sunday, the "Sportschau" program obtained an 18.6% share as 3.29 million viewers tuned in. In the target demographic, the show drew shares of 15.7% and 12.5%, respectively (DWDL, 8/10).
