Marketplace Roundup: FC Augsburg Extends Deal With Hans Segmüller

Bundesliga side FC Augsburg has extended its partnership with furniture company Hans Segmüller for another three years. The deal, which was brokered by Sportfive, includes sideline signage and logo presence on interview backdrops (Sportfive). ... Volkswagen has extended its cross-media partnership with German sports network Sport1. The car brand will also stay on as presenting partner of the "Volkswagen Doppelpass" football talk show. The partnership, which started in '12-13, will run until the end of the '16-17 season (SPONSORs, 8/10). ... Argentine first division club River Plate's shirt sales "shot up" 2,000% after the team won the Copa Libertadores last Wednesday. It was River Plate's first Copa Libertadores crown in 19 years, and "fans throughout the country took advantage of the online store to buy the official shirt," which features a map of South America across the back, along with the words, "El más grande de América" ("The biggest in América") (DYN, 8/10). ... League Championship side Queens Park Rangers and Smarkets signed a new partnership. As part of the agreement, Smarkets branding will be featured on the back of the first team playing shirts and shorts, as well as on the primary property position on the first team training wear. As confirmed earlier this week, the Ellerslie Road stand will also be renamed to incorporate the Smarkets brand name (QPR). ... A-League side Brisbane Roar reached an agreement with insurance broker Steadfast as the club's new principal partner. The Roar will wear the Steadfast brand on the front of its shirt throughout the '15-16 season. The Steadfast brand will also be displayed this coming season on the shirts of Brisbane Roar players in the W-League and the National Youth League (Brisbane Roar). ... League Championship side Fulham signed a deal with Qualco as an official partner of the club for the '15-16 season. The agreement means Qualco is also one of the first companies in the financial services space to partner with the club as it becomes Fulham's designated credit management partner. The partnership will see Fulham and Qualco work together to plan and execute varying campaigns over the 10-month period of the agreement (Fulham).
