Chelsea Manager JOSE MOURINHO "took aim" at doctor EVA CARNEIRO after Chelsea started its Premier League title defense with a draw against Swansea City. Mourinho focused "his attention on Carneiro’s decision to try to treat" EDEN HAZARD in stoppage time. He said, "I wasn't happy with my medical staff because even if you are a medical doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game" (London TELEGRAPH, 8/9). ... The body of former F1 world champion JUAN MANUEL FANGIO "has been exhumed on the orders of a judge in Argentina." He ordered samples from Fangio's body be "taken to try to resolve paternity cases brought by two men in their seventies claiming to be his sons" (BBC, 8/8). ... Barcelona striker NEYMAR "will miss Tuesday's final of the European Supercup against Sevilla and also the final of the Spanish Supercup" against Athletic Bilbao as the result of an illness normally associated with children. The club has confirmed that Neymar "is suffering from mumps and will need a fortnight to recover from the illness" (XINHUA, 8/9). ... South African rugby national team captain JEAN DE VILLIERS said that "he'll probably retire from internationals after one more crack at the Rugby World Cup." De Villiers said "the reality is" that Saturday's Rugby Championship test against Argentian was his last in South Africa. He said, "I can't see myself playing international rugby next year" (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 8/8). ... British runner MO FARAH "has agreed to some details of his anti-doping blood tests being made public in an attempt to prove he is clean." The decision by two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Farah "to allow the data to be published comes in the light of the latest drugs scandal engulfing athletics." Farah, who recorded no abnormal tests, "has been forced to insist on his innocence" after his coach ALBERTO SALAZAR "was recently the subject of doping allegations in a Panorama documentary" (London TELEGRAPH, 8/9). ... LPGA Tour co-Founder LOUISE SUGGS, died at the age of 91 in Sarasota, Florida, on Friday. Suggs, along with fellow competitors BABE ZAHARIAS and PATTY BERG and 10 others, helped organize the LPGA Tour in '50 and was president between '55-57 (LPGA Tour). ... Video footage acquired by a Sunday newspaper appears to show EPL club Leicester City and England striker JAMIE VARDY "racially abusing an Asian man in an argument at a casino." Vardy "was pictured at a poker table in the early hours of July 26 shouting an insult at a man out of view of the camera" (LONDON TIMES, 8/9).

OUT THE DOOR: Tennis player EUGENIE BOUCHARD's coaching "merry-go-round will take another turn" after the Canadian announced on Friday she had split with SAM SUMYK "following a six months blighted by injury and a succession of early exits from tournaments." The 21-year-old "will be coached temporarily" by Serbian MARKO DRAGIC at the Roger's Cup in Toronto "as she seeks to rebound from her first-round loss at Wimbledon." Bouchard "parted ways" with long-time coach NICK SAVIANO in November (REUTERS, 8/7).
