Media Notes: StarHub Acquires Broadcast Rights For Champions League, Europa League

StarHub has completed a double swoop for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League on Eurosport and Eurosport 360 for the next three years from the '15-16 season. Matches will be shown in HD, on Catch Up, as well as on StarHub TV Anywhere, giving Sports Group subscribers the complete UCL and UEL viewing experience anytime, anywhere (StarHub). ... Liverpool launched the new re-design of Liverpoolfc.com home and news pages. Designed using the latest online technology available, both the home and news sections are now fully optimized and compatible with mobile and tablet devices (Liverpool). ... NBA and Sport1, owned by AMC Networks Int'l -- Central Europe, announced an expanded multiyear partnership in Hungary to provide season-long coverage of the NBA on Sport1 and Sport2. Sport1 will broadcast a minimum of two live games per week during the regular season, along with live coverage of marquee NBA events including NBA All-Star, NBA Playoffs and the Finals. Sport1's weekly U.S.-based show "Trash talk" will also include NBA highlights (NBA). ... The Venezuelan Football Federation "has sold the exclusive broadcast rights" for its national club competitions and int'l fixtures to GolTV in a deal worth an estimated $20M. GolTV, an America-based Spanish-language TV network operating throughout North and South America, will begin airing the Venezuelan Primera División from '16. GolTV's agreement "will see it show five games a week from the country's top division in Venezuela" for two years (SOCCEREX, 8/6).
