The Sydney Morning Herald spelt out the bare fact, “93 minutes, 18.3 overs, 60 runs, 10 wickets: It’s Pomicide” before describing match as a “nightmare in Nottingham.” The Courier Mail, "which famously vowed not to use the name of Stuart Broad when he refused to walk after edging to a slip fielder in the 2013 Ashes series," put the bowler’s picture on its front page, alongside the word, “Shocker.” The back page "was similarly dramatic."
