Lagardère Unlimited Reports Revenue Increase Of Nearly 50% For First Half Of '15

The sports division of French company Lagardère reported positive financial numbers, according to Nils Lehnebach of SPONSORs. The company was able to increase its revenue by almost 50%. During the first half of '15, the company generated revenue of €259M ($285M), which is a 48.5% increase in comparison to the same period last year. The sports division was the strongest sector within the group. The group's total revenue decreased slightly to €3.3B ($3.6M), which is €60M ($66M) less than last year. Lagardère Unlimited's recurring EBIT was €32M ($35M), which represents a significant €26M ($28M) increase in comparison to '14. Lagardère said that the positive development is due to a very favorable sporting events schedule, in particular the execution of the Africa Cup of Nations and the AFC Asian Cup (SPONSORs, 7/31).
