PETER THIESSEN recently joined Eleven Sport Network at head of content, where he will be responsible for the programming as well as R&D of local int'l sports coverage. Thiessen has nearly 25 years' experience from his career in Belgian media and has worked with all major channels and production companies, including Kanakna, Sultan Sushi, Endemol and Fremantlemedia. JAN MOSSELMANS recently joined Imagina EU as the producer of Eleven and Eleven Sports in Belgium. As chief editor sports, he is in charge of the content management of the two channels and the management of the editorial team. He has been involved in Belgian and int'l sports journalism for more than 25 years and was a senior football journalist for Het Laatste Nieuws for 28 years (Eleven Sports Network). ... The board of England Netball announced that JOANNA ADAMS has been confirmed as permanent CEO, with COLIN POVEY appointed as chairman-elect. Current England Netball Chair CHERYL DANSON will step down at the annual general meeting on Sept. 19 and Povey will take over the role (England Netball). ... Guangzhou R&F sacked Romanian coach COSMIN CONTRA "after a dreadful run of form in the Chinese Super League." Contra, "who made a bright start to his coaching career and led Petrolul Ploiesti to a Romanian Cup triumph in 2013, took over at Guangzhou in December after leaving Spanish club Getafe" (REUTERS, 7/22).
