Media Notes: German TV Channel ProSieben Maxx Unveils NFL Commentators

German free-to-air TV channel ProSieben Maxx unveiled Frank Buschmann and Jan Stecker "as commentators for its NFL broadcasts." The channel signed a three-year deal with the league in early July and "will show 43 games this season." A ProSieben Maxx spokesperson said that the NFL reporting teams "will see futher additions" (DWDL, 7/20). ... Sportfive announced a strategic partnership with Republic of Congo within the framework of the 11th edition of the African Games which will take place from Sept. 4-9 in Brazzaville. Sportfive will provide assistance and advise services regarding marketing and broadcasting matters (Sportfive). ... CCTV Sports & Entertainment Co., Ltd. acquired the exclusive rights to the 35th America’s Cup. CCTV, the flagship broadcaster in China, will show racing from all stages of the event. The racing will be broadcast on CCTV5+, which is China’s free to air sports channel, to a mainland audience (CCTVSE).
