Finance Notes: Barcelona Announces '14-15 Revenue Of €608M

Barcelona announced that it made more than €600M in revenue last season. The club said that in a campaign when it won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, an audit carried out by accounting firm Deloitte determined it generated revenues of €608M. Barcelona earned a profit of €15M after taxes during that time (AP, 7/16). ... Sports Direct, the retailer controlled by EPL side Newcastle Owner Mike Ashley, is "risking the wrath of shareholders once more by lowering one of the key hurdles for its employee share scheme to pay out millions of pounds." The company said on Thursday that it was recommending to shareholders a "lower earnings target for the current financial year," cutting its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization target from £480M ($750M) to £420M ($656M). The analyst consensus forecast is EBITDA of about £430M ($671M) (FINANCIAL TIMES, 7/16).
