Brazilian Football Federation, Ultrafarma Agree To 30-Year Sponsorship

The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) announced on Monday a 30-year sponsorship from pharmaceutical e-commerce Ultrafarma for the Brazilian national team, according to ESTADÃO. Ultrafarma, which becomes the team's 14th sponsor, "will not place a logo on the team's uniform, but will exhibit its name on plaques and signs shared by the team." Ultrafarma Founder & President Sidney Oliveira said, "The company will associate its image with this symbol of conquest, victory and leadership that is the Brazilian national team." For CBF President Marco Polo Del Nero, the "arrival of a new sponsor shows that the image of Brazilian football was not destroyed" by Brazil's 7-1 loss to Germany during the 2014 World Cup. Del Nero: "The Brazilian national team has a history of being the most victorious ... and we have this example of trust from Ultrafarma, a recognition of the seriousness in our administration" (ESTADÃO, 7/13). MAQUINA DO ESPORTE reported as a form of protection to both parties, the sponsorship "will be revised every five years." In addition, the contract "includes the use" of Oliveira's line of vitamins and minerals (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 7/13).
