Arsenal Launches Gold And Blue Away Kit For '15-16 Event In Singapore

Arsenal has launched its new away kit ahead of next season, according to James Whaling of the London DAILY MIRROR. The gold and navy blue strip was "officially unveiled in Singapore," as the Gunners prepare for the new campaign with a preseason tour to the Far East. An "enthusiastic bunch of local supporters turned out in force" to see players including Petr Cech, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Özil in the new shirts. The shirt had been "leaked" throughout the summer, "and the images were, as it turned out, legitimate" (DAILY MIRROR, 7/14). In London, Ben Grounds reported Arsenal will take part in the Barclays Asia Trophy for the first time this week, with its opening game against a Singapore Select XI on Wednesday preceding a fixture against Everton or Stoke City over the weekend. The new Puma kit has a "retro feel to it, with the diamond patterns across the chest of the shirt," and a selection of the first team squad posed on stage in the new attire, including club captain Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere and Héctor Bellerín. The strip, "which is available to buy now, went down extremely well with hysterical Gunners fans" at the event in Singapore (DAILY MAIL, 7/14).
