Football Notes: All India Football Federation Launches Pilot Project For State Associations

The All India Football Federation, in partnership with FIFA, "will be launching a pilot project for the development of seven state associations." The project will kick off from Kolkata. With India hosting the FIFA 2017 U17 World Cup, the associations that are designated as provisional venues -- Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Kochi and Guwahati -- "are kept in the initial plan." In addition, Mizoram FA has been included for its involvement at the grassroots and youth development (DECCAN HERALD, 7/10). ... Barcelona will "not be opening a permanent football academy for young talent in Denmark," as it had announced would "some months ago." After a meeting held between the club and the Danish Football Federation (DBU), the DBU announced that the project would "continue no further" (MARCA, 7/9).
