European 'Big Five' Sees Year-On-Year Attendance Increase, KPMG Analysis Finds

KPMG’s Sport practice research said that, in the '14-15 season, the top two divisions in each of the "big five" European territories attracted, in aggregate, more than 77 million spectators. This equated to a year-on-year increase of just more than 1% and was equivalent to an average attendance of 19,500 per game. The top division in each of the "big five" European territories was the main contributor to the overall total. The largest year-on-year decrease at an individual league level was experienced by Ligue 2, falling by 22% (KPMG).
