Brasileiro side São Paulo Finance Dir Osvaldo Vieira de Abreu said that the club "now has the funds to settle three months worth of delayed image rights payments," the first of which were paid on Friday, according to Marcelo Prado of GLOBO ESPORTE. De Abreu: "We already have the amount we need to settle those three months. ... The amounts that São Paulo received for the sales [of Denílson, Paulo Miranda and Souza] is not yet at our disposal ... But we received other late revenue. The important thing is that everything will be settled." The payment "came at the right time, since some athletes had clearly expressed dissatisfaction with the outstanding debt." De Abreu said that the club "dished out" R$8.4M ($2.6M) on Friday, but is still awaiting R$23M ($7.1M) for Denílson, Miranda and Souza (GLOBO ESPORTE, 7/8).
