A-League side Perth Glory appointed PETER FILOPOULOS as the club's new CEO. His football experience can be traced back to the '90s, when he was CEO of National Soccer League side South Melbourne (Perth Glory). ... Barcelona sacked JORDI VINYALS from his position as B-team coach after overseeing the team's relegation to Segunda B. The 51-year-old replaced EUSEBIO SACRISTAN for the second half of last season "but could not arrest the side's slump" as it finished bottom of the Spanish second division (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 6/26). ... La Liga side Getafe announced on Friday that it appointed FRAN ESCRIBA as its new coach on a three-year deal. The 50-year-old Spaniard, who resigned from Elche this week after three years in charge, "becomes Getafe's fourth manager since last summer," following on from COSMIN CONTRA, QUIQUE SANCHEZ FLORES and caretaker PABLO FRANCO (PA, 6/26).
