CBV Regains Banco Do Brasil Sponsorship After Six-Month Suspension

The Brazilian Volleyball Federation (CBV) will once again "receive its sponsorship" from Banco do Brasil, according to MAQUINA DO ESPORTE. The bank "pulled the sporting funds to align with orientation" from the Brazilian Comptroller General (CGU), which pointed out "irregularities" in contracts signed by both parties. In a statement, Banco do Brasil said that it "received documents from the Brazilian Volleyball Federation that proved the fulfillment of requirements from the volleyball sponsorship contract" signed at the end of January. Banco do Brasil "understood 'that the adopted measures represented a step forward in management practices to bring more transparency to the application of resources.'" The bank's sponsorship of the CBV had been "suspended since December" (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 6/22).
