Austrian F1 GP Attracts Close To 5 Million Viewers On RTL, Draws Season High On Sky

German free-to-air TV channel RTL "recorded nearly 5 million viewers for its broadcast of the Austrian F1 Grand Prix on Sunday," according to the SID. An average of 4.81 million viewers tuned in to watch Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg celebrate his third victory of the season. RTL obtained a market share of 32.7% for its race coverage, which started at 2pm (SID, 6/22). DWDL's Alexander Krei reported German pay-TV operator Sky drew a record 440,000 viewers for its broadcast of the race, the channel's best viewership of the season. The number translated into a market share of 3.3% in the target demographic 14-49 (DWDL, 6/22).
