Judge Sees Indications Of Match-Fixing At Spanish Second Division Side Osasuna

Spanish second division side Osasuna is "thought to have paid" La Liga side Betis €650,000 and Espanyol €250,000 to influence results, according to MARCA. The judge in charge of the Osasuna scandal trial believes that "there are indications" that the Navarre-based club spent €900,000 to fix at least three games in the '13-14 season. Espanyol is alleged to have received €250,000 for a draw, while Betis was supposedly paid €650,000 for two games: €400,000 to beat Valladolid and €250,000 to lose to Osasuna. The magistrate "is continuing to investigate other games whose outcomes are thought to have been manipulated by Osasuna," as well as the whereabouts of €2.4M in cash withdrawn from the club's accounts (MARCA, 6/17).

Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) chairman La Nyalla Mattalitti said the association considered an allegation that the Indonesian U-23 soccer team had engaged in match fixing in the 2015 SEA Games slanderous.

“I can confirm that the PSSI will not keep quiet about the match-fixing allegation. The PSSI will take the legal path to fight against the slander,” he said on his Twitter account as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The case began when BS, who claimed to be a player involved in match fixing, alleged that match-fixing practices had been committed by Indonesian soccer teams at national and international matches,
