Polish Football Club Zawisza Bydgoszcz Up For Sale After Relegation

Polish football club Zawisza Bydgoszcz Owner Radoslaw Osuch announced plans to sell the club following its relegation from Poland's top tier, the Ekstraklasa, "and the decision by the municipal authorities of Bydgoszcz to reduce their support to the troubled side," according to Jaroslaw Adamowski of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. Zawisza was one of the two Ekstraklasa clubs to be relegated to the second tier for the '15-16 season, alongside GKS Belchatow. Osuch said that with the club's revenues "set to be further reduced this season," the support provided by the city of Bydgoszcz, totalling PLN 2.5M ($680,000), "will not be enough for the side to aim at returning to the top tier in a year's time." Osuch: "These funds are to small for us to make our way back to the Ekstraklasa. This is why I will start to look for a new investor. And if the city wants to, it can buy the shares from me" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 6/17).
