Chilean Broadcaster Canal Del Fútbol Rated Country's Most Valuable By PwC

Chilean football broadcaster Canal del Fútbol is the most valuable TV station in Chile, according to TELETRECE. A report by PwC in March found that the broadcaster has an estimated value of $967M, "easily surpassing" the $155M Time Warner spent to acquire Chilevisión in '10 and the $180M that the Bethia group paid for Mega. In '14, CDF's signal was seen in 2.7 million homes, 802,000 clients paid for the premium signal, another 80,000 subscribed to the HD signal and 7,500 to the Internet. PwC estimated that this year, the figures will increase, to 2.8 million subscribers to the basic plan, 813,000 to the premium signal and 113,000 to the HD signal. This will raise the channel's revenues 8% in relation to '14, to $122M. PwC bases these projections on Chile "likely becoming the second-fastest growing country in the region in the pay-TV market" (TELETRECE, 6/14).
