Spain-Belarus Euro 2016 Qualifer Draws 5 Million-Plus On TVE's La 1

An average audience of 5.06 million viewers tuned in to TVE's La 1 for Spain's 1-0 win over Belarus in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Sunday, according to the EP. The number translated to a market share of 28.7% and was the most-watched program of the day on La 1. It was also the most-watched Euro 2016 qualifier of the year (EP, 6/15). DWDL’s Alexander Krei reported German free-to-air TV channel RTL Nitro drew an average of 560,000 viewers during the first half of the Euro 2016 qualifier between Slovenia and England. The result was a 4.1% market share in the target demographic 14-49. During the second half of Sunday's game, the viewership increased to 640,000 and had a 3.2% share.

OTHER SPORTS
: Pan-European sports channel Eurosport recorded tremendous ratings for its broadcast of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The network’s six-hour coverage attracted an average of 280,000 viewers starting at 9am on Sunday. The number translated into a market share of 2.8%. In the target demographic, Eurosport obtained a 3.3% share for its broadcast. German sports channel Sport1 drew 350,000 viewers for its broadcast of the World Cup of Darts final between England and Scotland. Sport1’s coverage had a 1.9% market share (DWDL, 6/15).
