Marketplace Roundup: Ford Announces It Will Partner With Michelin For '16 Le Mans

Ford announced that it will return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in '16 with Michelin as its exclusive tire technology partner. Ford will have two cars at Le Mans as part of the FIA WEC series and hopes to enter four EcoBoost-powered Ford GT cars at the famed endurance race that it won four consecutive times from '66-69 with the Ford GT40. Ford will compete in the Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance Professional class against other manufacturer teams including Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche (Ford). ... The German Handball Federation (DHB) has reached a deal with Creditfair to become an official supplier of the federation. The deal, which was negoatiated by Sportfive, includes advertisement space and runs through '21 (Sportfive). ... Handball Bundesliga (HBL) club SG Flensburg-Handewitt has extended its partnership with ad agency Hochzwei for another season (SG Flensburg-Handewitt). ... South Australian family winery Taylors Wines announced its official partnership with Australian National Rugby Union side Qantas Wallabies. The partnership will see Taylors as the official wine supplier and sponsor for all major Wallabies events and matches for the next three years. Taylors will also run a national marketing campaign throughout the upcoming Rugby Championship (ARU). ... The FA of Ireland announced details of a new sponsorship arrangement that will see Celtic Pure become the official water partner to the FAI for the next five years. As the FAI’s official water partner, Celtic Pure will have a presence at all Ireland home games at Aviva Stadium, on the FAI’s website and at FAI media conferences (FAI). ... Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has extended its agreement to exclusively feature the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League elements in forthcoming Pro Evolution Soccer titles for another three years. The original agreement was signed in '09 and the new partnership will allow Konami to use all iconography and presentation elements associated with the competitions exclusively within the PES series (Konami). ... Cromax has been named an official partner of the Honda Racing team Sweden for the '15 and '16 FIA World Touring Car Championship seasons. The contract will see the global refinish brand's logo on the WTCC Honda Civic TC1 race car, driver overalls and team clothing (Cromax).
