Atlético Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has stated that the club will "look to make some major signings this summer if no transfer ban is forthcoming," according to MARCA. Cerezo was "also asked about his expectations for the coming season," after coach Diego Simeone claimed that La Liga will be "dangerously" tipped in Real Madrid's favor next term. Cerezo said, "Next year we will try to have a great season. We know that it's very tough to compete with several important clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla. We're going to try to improve on this season, which will be difficult, and will have the same targets: third place in the league and automatic qualification for the Champions League, giving the best possible account of ourselves in the Copa del Rey and reaching the final, and trying to do our utmost in the Champions League" (MARCA, 6/10). In Madrid, Alberto R. Barbero reported Atlético is "again negotiating" with the Spanish Football League (LFP) on the amount it can spend on its first team ahead of next season. As economic control regulations say that this amount cannot exceed 70% of revenue, "the discussion moves to the exact total from revenue." Atlético is "hoping the LFP will count certain commercial rights like the new TV revenue, whose introduction in '15-16 has not yet been assured" (MARCA, 6/9).
