LFP Reports Season Attendance Records In La Liga, Second Division

The Spanish Football League (LFP) confirmed on Tuesday that the '14-15 season set a new attendance record in La Liga and the Spanish second division, with a total of 13,546,935 attending games in both divisions, according to the EFE. Total attendance at La Liga games was 9,779,032, while second division games attracted a total of 3,767,903. The LFP also set records for "occupation of capacity." With playoffs for promotion from the second division to La Liga still to be played, the total attendance number listed by the LFP surpasses the record of 13,537,717, set during the '09-10 season. La Liga matches established a record in terms of capacity, as fans filled stadiums to 69.93% of capacity. Second division crowds filled stadiums to 44.21% of capacity. The average between the two leagues of 60.19% also established a record (EFE, 6/9).
