Portugal's TVI Secures Rights To Copa América Tournament In South America

TVI in Portugal has become the latest international network to pick up broadcast rights to the upcoming Copa America tournament.

The terrestrial broadcaster will provide coverage of all 26 games from the tournament, which kicks off in a weeks’ time. It will also air a regular show featuring highlights and happenings on and off the field.

This year’s Copa America, the 44th edition of South America’s continental championships, begins with hosts Chile versus Ecuador on 11th June. The final of the 12-team tournament is due to take place in Santiago on 4th July. Uruguay are the reigning champions.

Contracts with broadcasters of this year’s tournament have been negotiated by WeMatch on behalf of Conmebol, the governing body for soccer in South America, and the organisers of the tournament, CA2015.
