Marketplace Roundup: World Rugby Names Dove Men+Care World Cup Grooming Supplier

World Rugby has announced the appointment of Unilever's leading male skincare brand, Dove Men+Care, as official male grooming supplier of Rugby World Cup 2015. With 109 days to go until kickoff, the announcement further cements England 2015 as the most commercially successful Rugby World Cup to date (World Rugby). ... Bundesliga side Hamburg SV and Care-Energy have extended their partnership for another three years. Germany's largest energy provider will remain the official energy partner of the Volksparkstadion (Hamburg SV). ... Brasileiro sides Atlético Paranaense and Coritiba arranged a sponsorship agreement with 99Taxis, which will "have its logo on the shoulders" of both uniforms. The taxi service "will be another sponsor that closed a deal in conjunction with both clubs, which have used the strategy" to up recent sponsorships, such as their deals with telecom TIM. Figures were not disclosed. The agreement "will be valid" until '16 (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 5/29). ... McDonald's Singapore announced its sponsorship of the 28th Southeast Asian Games. As the official partner, McDonald's Singapore aims to raise public awareness and support for Team Singapore athletes. McDonald's Singapore will launch a four-part advertorial series in Singapore's The Straits Times. The weekly series, which will feature local athletes from four different generations, kicked off on May 10 (SEA Games). ... The European Handball Federation's marketing arm, EHF Marketing GmbH, has confirmed that the VELUX Group has agreed to a five‐year extension of its title sponsorship of the EHF Champions League (EHF). ... League Championship side Sheffield Wednesday announced that the family name of club Chair Dejphon Chansiri will be the club's official shirt sponsor for the '15-16 season. The move will see the "Chansiri" name emblazoned on the Owls' home and away strip next season (Sheffield Wednesday). ... Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and retailer Alain Afflelou have agreed to continue their partnership for the '15-16 season. The name of the brand will continue to appear on the team kit, front and back, and on all equipment of the club (ISPORTCONNECT, 5/29).
