AS Roma Reportedly In Talks To Buy Polish Football Club Korona Kielce

Serie A side AS Roma "may soon have a strong presence in the T-Mobile Ekstraklasa," according to PSN. The Italian club "is interested in a potential acquisition of Korona Kielce," which currently occupies 14th place in the Ekstraklasa league table. Kielce Mayor Wojciech Lubawski: "We are obliged to keep the negotiations confidential but, as the Italians have already spoken about this, I can confirm that we have been… in talks with AS Roma on selling Korona. They want to buy 100 percent of the shares." It is reported that the American Owner of AS Roma, James Pallotta, "is greatly interested in buying the Polish outfit." Lubawski also revealed that AS Roma is "not the one interested in acquiring the Kielce club." Talks "are underway also with a Polish entity." The amount of the potential deal "was not disclosed by the city’s authorities" (PSN, 5/23).
