Barcelona Could Earn Bonuses Of Up To $10.5M From Sponsors Qatar Airways, Nike

If Barcelona captures the triple -- winning La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey -- "it would mean many millions entering the club for various reasons," according to Luis F. Rojo of MARCA. First, "the bonuses from sponsors are very important." Qatar Airways will pay the club an extra €5M ($5.55M) for winning the Champions League. Nike will also pay the club €2.5M ($2.77M) for winning the Champions League and €2M ($2.22M) more for winning a double. Between Nike and Qatar Airways, this is a total of €9.5M ($10.5M). Another significant source of revenue will come from UEFA prize money. Barcelona set its budget based on making the quarterfinals, "from there, it is extra revenue." UEFA pays €4.9M ($5.4M) for making the semifinals, and €10.5M ($11.7M) for winning the championship (MARCA, 5/20).
