Hamburg SV To Make $11.1M Loss Due To Distinctively Higher Player Wages

Bundesliga side Hamburg SV "will reportedly announce another significant loss for the current season," according to Nils Lehnebach of SPONSORs. German newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt reported that the club will make a €10M ($11.1M) loss during the '14-15 season. The loss is reportedly due to "distinctively higher player wages." The club originally estimated a loss of €3M-€5M ($3.3M-$5.6M). The team "could not be reached for comment." It "would be the third consecutive loss for Hamburg" after it reported an €8.4M loss for '12-13 and a €9.8M loss in '13-14 (SPONSORs, 5/19).
