More Than 700,000 Viewers Watch 2nd Bundesliga Games On Sky Deutschland

German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland "recorded more than 700,000 viewers for its 2nd Bundesliga broadcasts on Sunday," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. Sky's coverage attracted 710,000 viewers and had a 4.9% market share. In the target demographic 14-49, the 2nd Bundesliga coverage obtained a 6.4% share. German free-to-air TV channel Sport1, which showed game highlights, drew 800,000 viewers for its program. Sport1 had a peak audience of 1.05 million viewers. Prior to the highlights show, Sport1 aired the U19 semifinal between Schalke and Karlsruhe. The game was watched by 270,000 viewers.

RACING COVERAGE: Pan-European broadcaster Eurosport attracted more than 420,000 viewers to its broadcast of the French MotoGP  race. The race had a peak audience of 630,000 viewers. The race drew a market share of 3.3%, including 2.8% in the target demographic. In the male demographic, Eurosport obtained a 3.6% share. Sport1 drew an average of 1.08 million viewers for its broadcast of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. In addition, the IIHF World Championships final between Canada and Russia was watched by 470,000 viewers and had a 2.2% share in the target demo (DWDL, 5/18).
